Investing 101

UAIC presents our annual Investing 101 Event with Raymond Webb!

This event is for everyone, regardless of experience. No prior investing knowledge is required but we will have new examples and case studies for those that have previously attended Investing 101. We will be joined by Raymond Webb, a long-time guest and friend of the club to learn from his wealth of knowledge. Every Investing 101 event goes above and beyond to cover general life, savings, and career advice - so there’s something for everyone to learn from.

Raymond is an expatriate New Zealander who has lived and worked in the United States since 1997. From 1999 to 2015, Raymond managed insurance companies, pension plans and other portfolios at PICO Holdings, Inc., principally across U.S., Australasian and Swiss small-capitalisation value stocks and bonds. In January 2016, Raymond launched his own company, Industrial Equity, LLC, which makes value investments in under-appreciated U.S. stocks and bonds. Raymond is in his tenth year as a mentor in the Columbia Business School Value Investing MBA Mentoring Program. He has been a guest speaker in senior finance classes at New York University and the University of Auckland, and a guest speaker and occasional panellist or judge at student investment club events held at Yale University, Columbia, and Pomona College in the U.S., and Victoria University and the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

Questions can be pre-submitted through this form and will be answered on the night or in a follow-up email. You will also be able to ask questions on the night through sli.do or by putting a hand up, but for a more detailed answer, please pre-submit. Remember, the only silly question is the one you didn’t ask!
