Investing 101

UAIC presents our annual Investing 101 event with Raymond Webb!

Join us in OGGB room 260-223 this coming Wednesday 18th March at 6pm for a discussion of basic investment principles and the fundamentals of value investing. No prior investing knowledge is required, as the event is designed for beginners. However, there will be examples and case studies for members who already have some investing knowledge.

Raymond is a wealth of knowledge and every Investing 101 event so far has provided members with general life, savings and careers advice, beyond the investing basics.

At the end of the presentation, Raymond will be available for a Q&A session. He will also be discussing questions you anonymously submit through this form: http://bit.ly/Investing101QuestionSubmissions

Raymond’s background:
Raymond is an expatriate New Zealander who has lived and worked in the United States since 1997.

From 1999 to 2015, Raymond managed insurance company, pension plan and other portfolios at PICO Holdings, Inc., principally in U.S., Australasian and Swiss small-capitalization value stocks and bonds. In January 2016, Raymond launched his own company, Industrial Equity, LLC, which has begun to make value investments in under-appreciated U.S. stocks and bonds.

Raymond is in his eighth year as a mentor in the Columbia Business School Value Investing MBA Mentoring Program. He has been a guest speaker in senior finance classes at New York University and the University of Auckland, and a guest speaker and occasional panellist or judge at student investment club events held at Yale University, Columbia, and Pomona College in the U.S., and Victoria University and Auckland in New Zealand.
