UAIC and Global From Day One are excited to bring you the inaugural GD1 Venture Capital Competition.
Venture capital firms invest in young and growing companies with proven technology and sales. They help founders realise their dreams by bringing their businesses to the world and fostering a start-up ecosystem.
In 2019, the Government gave The New Zealand Super Fund $300m NZD to start the Elevate NZ Venture Fund. The fund is managed by New Zealand Growth Capital Partners (NZGCP) who are tasked with growing the NZ start-up ecosystem by investing in venture capital funds.
NZGCP has invested $15m in your fund for you to invest in companies during several rounds of funding.
Your task is to:
Select and analyse three companies from the set provided to add to your fund's investment portfolio.
Justify your portfolio's composition and present your analysis.
This competition is designed to be fun and engaging for students from all backgrounds, degrees and ages.
